Who’s your daddy?…

New York Magazine published the first volume of their new series Style Tribes on their site today, and the focus was none other than the young ladies of the Chelsea Galleries. The gallerinas look amazng – no denying that. But, we can’t help but wonder whether some are forgoing their lunch in order to afford Alexander Wang and Balenciaga. The salary of a Chelsea gallery assistant is notably slim…as are these ladies…which therefore totally legitimizes our previous statement (if you sense our bitterness, it’s more a tinge of envy).

More interesting than the article itself are the comments that the feature unwittingly produced. From cries of “that’s sooo racist” to “a gallerina is not a girl that works in a gallery…duh!” Ok we’re paraphrasing but not exaggerating. By far our favorite is from a reader going by the name of SUNSUN who is “feeling the ghost of Andy Warhol” – we hear you SUNSUN, this leaves us feeling cold and dead too.
